Our Board

The members of our board of directors are thought leaders who have made a significant contribution to our society. Each and every one of them brings a unique set of skills and expertise to our organization.

Monique Villegas de Saucedo, President

Living in Michigan since 2005 Founder of the Facebook group "Mexicanas en Michigan" in April 2012. Actual President and a founder of Friends on Board Foundation staring in 2014.

Born in Mexico City, raised in Chihuahua, with a degree in Communications Sciences at the ITESM. Now she is certified as a Spanish- English translator and interpreter and Working helping Hispanic families.

Maria Fernanda Gomez, Vice-president

A member since 2012, this Real State Agent was born in Saltillo Coahuila Mexico and has been living in Michigan for the past 10 years

She wants to support Mexican Community to be seen as a strong, hard-working group with principles and moral values.

Vanessa Jimenez, Treasury

A founder Member of the Friends on Board Foundation, form Aguascalientes Mexico has been living in Michigan since the early 2000.

Her Finance & Administration degree allows her to maximze the resources of the organization in order to help the Mexican Community in Michigan.

Originally from Mexico City and now living in Michigan for over 20 years, her skills in administration allow her to lead diverse activities for the foundation.

Her goal is to help the Mexican community maintain their culture and values while integrating with american society.

Our History

Friends on Board Foundation was born thanks to an enthusiastic group of women.

In particular thanks to Monique Villegas - Saucedo who created ¨Mexicanas en Michigan¨ Mexican Women in Michigan.

Mexicanas en Michigan is a Facebook group founded with the intent to provide a way for Mexican women in Michigan to connect and help each other.

Mexicanas en Michigan

The page became a valuable resource for Mexican women seeking help or advice about: doctors in the area, family activities, cultural awareness, a soft establishment for those families landing in Michigan, best places to visit in Michigan, etc.

Also specific causes for people in need, on many occasions, our members used the page to inform each other about members suffering from terminal diseases in need of help, or to request assistance for communities in Mexico that were hit by natural disasters.

Due to its powerful impact we have in the Midwest and in our community as well as the response on different causes the group decided to formally organize ourselves and became Friends on Board Foundation (FOBF), a non-profit organization (501-c-3) to be able to help and promote social welfare through education, voluntary services and fundraising.

The foundation gives aid and support to victims of home violence and those suffering from either physical or emotional health conditions. We also provide educational scholarships for those in need.
